Five years ago we decided that Newport deserved a formal entity dedicated to its great arts community. There are many hurdles to practicing in Newport, from the lack of affordable spaces to a chronic procrastination on the part of our city leaders to create an Arts and Cultural plan that may protect not only our beautiful built environment, but the culture makers who give Newport it’s authenticity.
You can support NAH by signing one of our petitions for increased visibility of our arts community, which we use for our advocacy purposes. Some of our current pushes are for the creation of sustainable plans as it regards the creative sector and economic development in Newport.
