WHAT ARE THE TARDUCCI STUDIOS AT INNOVATE NEWPORT?

A TRIFECTA BENEFITING ARTISTS AND SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS

The NAH Tarducci Studios at Innovate Newport sit at the intersection of a truly forward thinking tripartite partnership. Created as a collaboration between Newport Art House, Newport born and bred artist Mia Tarducci, and Innovate Newport in 2020, the studios fulfill multiple needs, aspirations, and ideals for all involved.

Newport Art House’s mission is to nurture, showcase, and promote the contemporary arts of Newport (with a focus on providing for the arts community).

Mia Tarducci is a talented and community oriented full time artist who supplies an incredible fund-raising drive to the project.  Her creative practice involves creating highly appraised and esteemed large-scale abstract paintings.

Innovate Newport is a space created in Newport meant to serve the creative and tech economy as part of Newport’s push to diversify its investment in local talent.

Together we have created a collaboration that serves all three entities in empowering Newport’s talented artistic small business-owner.

DONORS, PARTNERS, AND BIG THINKERS WELCOME

You already support the arts, why not support the artist? By donating funds towards the NAH Tarducci Studios you are not only subsidizing the costs of renting the space, but helping us with our push to advocate for more artist spaces in Newport.

Artists are needed more than ever. Creative thinkers and problem solvers are sought around leadership tables as the nation faces economic challenges necessitating new solutions: Newport is no exception. Newport artists struggle to find affordable places to both live, develop their craft, and grow their businesses. We know that with access to markets and fiscal success, artists lend their sweat equity to the communities they live in. By removing an obstacle the City of Newport, its businesses, and the community gains new thinkers.

The studios at Innovate Newport allow artists access to amenities that facilitate their success, including space to create, access to discounted conference spaces, pod-cast-recording equipment and sound-booths, cafe’s for casual meetings, and a building full of innovative businesses, connections, and clients. A major perk is the use of hallways and common areas as exhibition space, curated by NAH and accessible to the Tarducci Studio artists through monthly open houses.

Securing spaces for artists to thrive is part of Newport Art House’s mission, and with your help we can expand the project into other spaces within Innovate Newport, in other edifices and, eventually, into the arena of mixed use residential and studio space development. Artists are not a monolith, and they need different facilities. Thank you for contributing towards a more artistic and successful Newport.

ARE YOU AN ARTIST LOOKING FOR SPACE?

APPLY FOR SPACE AT THE NAH TARDUCCI STUDIOS YO

It’s not even funny how few artist studio spaces at affordable rates exist in Newport. We have a very limited amount of space to be simultaneously creative, innovative, and prosperous.

Apply for space at the NAH Tarducci Studios and move your practice into the next phase. Some benefits of renting studios at this location are:

-Significantly reduced pricing for studio space, at an average of about $1.36/square foot (on average about ca. $150/month with provided subsidy).

-Large space within former classroom appropriate for non-toxic art making. Highly appropriate for non-ventilation requiring large-scale visual artists, new media artists. Future studios for spray-paint, composite, pottery, and music studio space forthcoming at another location: we’re working on it.

-Access to free, high-speed internet.

-Access to discounted use of large conference spaces, small private conference spaces, pod-cast recording sound-booth (equipped), and Innovate Newport client-base and events.

-Access to exhibition on common area walls for use as your private showcasing and store-front space through collaboration with NAH Open Galleries events.

-Prebuilt 8×8 rolling wall for use in dividing space and adjusting to project and exhibition needs.

-Free coffee (right?) in the office cafeteria, and delicious (well worth the couple of dollars) craft coffee downstairs at the publicly accessible Simple Merchant Coffee café.

-Duration flexibility: great for 6 month projects or 1 month commitments.

Interested? Let us know before October 1st! We’ll be prioritizing artists who can commit to as close to an October 1st move-in date as possible!
