WHAT EVEN IS THE ARTIST ROLODEX?
The ROLODEX is a database of Newport based and practicing artists for the people interested in hiring them. Having artists present at your events enhances the experience of your guests significantly. Having a local artists means you’re supporting the talent present in our region and contributing to the success of our rich community of creatives.
Since our inception NAH has served as a resource for over 298 paid artist recommendations to people calling for weddings, shows, exhibits, installations, performances, etc. We love doing this work, so we’ve enabled a direct patron-to-artist relationship in the creation of the ROLODEX.
NAH will use the ROLODEX as a pipeline for artists we’ll hire for our own events, please consider offering fair or above market-rate compensation for the NAH Artist Rolodex artists listed.
CHEAT SHEET TO HELP YOU WITH A COUPLE OF MEDIA TERMS:
In this category you will find all kinds of (generally 2D) artists. From painters to block-print makers, photographers, to muralists.
The Musician / Band category lists bands with more than one members, including duos, bands, choruses, and larger ansambles of both original and covered material.
The Voice Artist category includes artists that sing unaccompanied, single musicians, and single instrumentalists.
Voice artists include opera singers, acapella singers, narrators, and experimental voice artists that provide a performance focusing on their voice.

It’s easy to be represented in the Artist Rolodex! It’s totally free and hands off. Once you’re on the Rolodex our hope is that your practice is enhanced with a multitude of opportunities for sharing your work.
The Artist Rolodex does not make NAH money, but does serve us in our own pursuit of artists to hire for our own events and collaborations.
